DrayTek VIGORBX2000AC Multi-WAN router with IP PBX functions
The VigorBX 2000ac IP PBX dual WAN integrated router has most functions of the Vigor2860 series routers, plus a built-in IP PBX with PBX features suitable for SOHO and small businesses, including Auto Attendant, Hunt Groups, Voice Mail, Call Forward/Pickup, Music on Hold, etc.
The VigorBX 2000ac IP PBX supports multi-WAN interfaces, including 1 x VDSL2/ADSL2+, 1 x Gigabit Ethernet WAN and 2 x USB port for 3G/4G mobile dongles. It can connect to the Internet through any combination of these interfaces for Load Balance and/or Failover functions. It also supports business level features such as object-oriented SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) Firewall, IPv6, 32 VPN tunnels, 16 SSL VPN tunnels, tag-based VLAN, multiple subnets, etc.
The VigorBX 2000ac IP PBX handles up to 50 extensions as well as 12 SIP trunks, 2 PSTN trunks and 8 custom trunks. It is equipped with 1 FXS and 2 FXO ports, and can be rack mounted using a 1RU rack mount bracket on a standard 19” rack or cabinet.

The VigorBX 2000ac IP PBX dual WAN integrated router provides an all in one IPPBX solution for the SOHO and small businesses supporting up to 50 extensions – local or remote as well as other PBX features such as Auto Attendant, Hunt Groups, Voice Mail, Call Forward/Pickup, Music on Hold, etc.
a) IP PBX Trunks
Three types of trunks (ie. telephone technology types) are handled by the
VigorBX 2000ac. These are: SIP Trunks, PSTN Trunks and Custom Trunks.
Up to 12 SIP trunks can be configured and assigned for selected extensions to use. Each SIP trunk can be assigned a “Time Budget” up to 1440 minutes (ie. up to 24 hours) for each day as well as being restricted to the number of simultaneous phone calls that can be made over the SIP trunk. This allows you to control the total duration of all phone calls within each day for each SIP Trunk, and prevents hackers or unauthorised users from creating an extension and making unlimited phone calls.
An Alias feature is available for business SIP trunks. You can set up different Answer modes, eg. Auto Attendant, or Forwarding to Extension, using different recorded messages for each extension. An outsider can call your Alias number and reach your extension directly. Also, when you make a call, you can assign an outgoing number for your extension, such that the Alias number will appear on the CLI of the receiver.
The two FXO ports connect two incoming PSTN lines for the PSTN trunks. These can be assigned for selected extensions to use and can also be assigned a “Time Budget” up to 1440 minutes for each day.
Custom Trunks can be configured to use an existing extension number as a trunk to another PBX system.
b) IPPBX Wizard
The IPPBX Wizard provides a quick and convenient method to configure the IP PBX. It guides you to set up the extension group, extension numbers, the SIP trunks and required office hours for the Auto Attendant feature.
c) FXS and FXO Ports
The VigorBX 2000ac provides one FXS port that can connect to an analogue phone or fax machine. Through the attached phone the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) configuration can be used to record system and user prompts for the Auto Attendant feature.
The two FXO ports are used to connect two incoming PSTN lines for the PSTN trunk.
The Voicemail feature allows a caller to leave a message when the phone is not answered or is busy. Voicemail messages can be emailed to the person of the phone extension or members of a hunt group if configured, or be retrieved remotely through normal phones.
e) Auto Attendant
The Auto Attendant feature provides a convenient method to handle incoming phone calls during both business and non-business hours. Incoming callers are greeted by a recorded voice based on the time of day, and the caller can select the required department or user from the configured voice prompts, or dial the extension directly. If the selected extension or hunt group is busy, the caller can be directed to leave a voicemail message or be placed in a queue to wait for the next available person in the hunt group.
The Auto Attendant can also be used to give out frequently requested information, or provide messages for both non-business hours and public holidays.
f) Hunt Groups
Up to 20 hunt groups can be configured and be assigned a hunt group extension number. Phone calls directed to the hunt group can be configured to dial all the extensions in the hunt group either simultaneously, sequentially or randomly.
Unanswered calls to the hunt group can be directed to another hunt group or extension, placed in a queue or be directed to voicemail for the caller to leave a message. For example if there is an incoming call for the sales department within a company but all the sales staff are already talking on the phone to other customers, then the incoming call can be directed to the technical support department to be answered. Alternatively the incoming call can be placed on a queue and listen to music while they are waiting for the next available sales staff member to answer the call.
g) Music on Hold
Music on Hold allows the caller to listen to music while waiting in a queue or left on hold in the process of transferring to another extension. Up to 5 music files can be played sequentially to provide up to 5 minutes of music. This feature can also be used to play promotional material while the caller is waiting.
h) Configurable User Prompts
User prompts are used for the Auto Attendant when handling incoming phone calls,
or be used to store music files for the Music on Hold feature.
Up to 50 user prompts can be configured and used by the VigorBX 2000ac.
i) Dial Plan
The Dial Plan feature in the VigorBX 2000ac provides 3 functions: Digit Map, Speed Dial and Call Barring.
The Digit Map function directs outgoing calls to a required trunk based on the numerical prefix of the dialled phone number.
Speed Dial provides a quick and convenient method to dial the most commonly used numbers along with the required trunk to use. Up to 100 Speed Dial numbers can be stored in the VigorBX 2000ac.
Call Barring allows certain phone numbers or types of phone calls, such as vicious or anonymous phone calls, to be blocked according to a time schedule.
j) Concurrent dual-band 802.11ac WLAN (2.4/5GHz frequency)
VigorBX 2000ac have a built-in IEEE 802.11n WLAN with concurrent dual-band (2.4G/5G). They can allow the essential applications to use the less interference band (e.g. 5G). The Wi-Fi access is also protected by security and encryption protocols, including WEP/WPA/WPA2, MAC Address Control, Multiple SSID, Wireless LAN Isolation, Wireless VLAN* and 802.1x Authentication.
The VigorBX 2000ac is equipped with IEEE 802.11ac wireless access point which can run 300Mbps @ 2.4GHz and 1600 Mbps @5GHz 11ac.
The Wireless Rate Control function allows connection rates for each network device to be individually managed as required. The WMM (Wi-Fi Multi-Media)* function allows setting of priority levels for various applications: voice, video, data, etc., so time-critical applications can be assigned higher priority levels. Furthermore, WDS (Wireless Distribution System) function allows you to extend the wireless coverage distance easily.
