You can make use of the Apple AirPrint app to print or scan wirelessly from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. You do not even have to join a secure WiFi network to print from mobile devices. Thanks to the Access Point Mode, you can now print directly from mobile devices without connecting to any wireless network. You can even use the Google Cloud Print feature to do the same.

You can also download Canon’s proprietary PIXMA/MAXIFY Printing Solutions app that facilitates quick and hassle free wireless printing from tablets and smartphones without connecting to a WiFi network. This app does not need the printer to be connected to a desktop PC or laptop, and no drivers are required to be installed. This app even lets you print photographs from social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. via the cloud. Use the cloud to scan and print from online services such as Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox.
